General Description:
Under limited direction, coordinates employee recruitment activities. Serves as the face of the college's recruitment efforts and acts as the equity representative for employee recruitments to ensure an equitable recruitment process and to promote staff diversity in the hiring process.
Examples of Duties
Essential Functions:
- Coordinates all employee recruitment activities for management, faculty, classified professionals and temporary positions
- Innovates the District's recruitment efforts to encourage well-qualified and diverse pools of applicants
- Posts positions and maintains the appropriate data in the District's applicant tracking system; coordinates system updates as necessary; trains other appropriate personnel to utilize the applicant tracking system
- Serves as equity representative for recruitment activities
- Develops relationship with other institutions in support of the District's recruitment efforts
- Performs research and conducts surveys to determine appropriate advertising strategies and maintains a network of advertising vendors to contact for recruitment activities as necessary
- Monitors advertising and recruitment-related budgets
- Establishes ongoing and consistent communication with administrators, faculty, and other recruitment committee members regarding position posting schedules and requirements
- Coordinates all aspects of the screening and interview process according to district, collective bargaining, and EEO regulations
- Facilitates hiring process for recruitments to ensure that all steps are completed and that required training is provided
- Coordinates the development of orientation sessions for all new employees
- Coordinates all employee tuberculosis testing requirements in accordance with district policy and state law and maintains a vendor network to provide this service for all new and current employees
- Coordinates all employee fingerprinting requirements in accordance with district policy and state law and maintains a vendor network to provide this service for all new employees and student workers
- Collects data to assist in development and maintenance of job information to create and develop legally defensible position job descriptions as necessary or required to comply with district standards and legal regulations
- Maintains recruitment records and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) diversity statistics and assists in completing required reports
- Arranges for District attendance at recruitment fairs; attends recruitment fairs, conferences, and workshops as needed or required

- Perform diversified and complex clerical support duties involving independent judgment requiring in-depth knowledge of an assigned function or program
- Use a computer with speed and accuracy and utilize multiple computer software applications, to include HRIS and ATS
- Understand and follow oral and written directions, analyze situations accurately, and make decisions on routine procedural matter
- Effective customer service and organizational skills, as well as timely completion of assigned projects and activities
- Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
Typical Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education/Training/Experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of applicable professional experience OR Applicable certifications OR
- Associate's degree and four (4) years of applicable professional experience AND applicable certifications OR
- Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required minimum qualifications
- Possess CA Driver license
- Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Human Resources experience

Interview Information:
Applicants deemed highly qualified for the position will be invited to participate in onsite oral interviews conducted by a screening committee. A limited number of candidates will be selected to move forward to the interview stage.
Interviews are tentatively scheduled for the week of September 21, 2026 with in-person final interviews scheduled the following day.
