The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is the largest community college district in the United States and one of the largest in the world. POSITION

The LACCD is accepting applications for Vocational Education Instructor, Computer Technology - Artificial Intelligence (AI) Non-Credit positions at our colleges for the 2025-2026 Academic School Year. The purpose of this posting is to create a pool of qualified applicants. When there is an opening at one of our colleges, the hiring location will begin its review process with the applicants in the pool. If you have applied to previous pools in this discipline, you will need to apply to this pool to continue to be considered.

The LACCD is seeking dynamic, motivated, and diverse candidates for part-time faculty positions to engage and educate our students in emerging artificial intelligence technologies. Successful candidates will collaborate, communicate, and work professionally with students, staff, faculty, and administrators. Applicants with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population are strongly encouraged to apply.

During completion of the adjunct application, applicants will have the opportunity to indicate which of LACCD's colleges are of interest for employment. Qualified applicants may be offered an interview with Noncredit Education Department members at one or more of LACCD's nine colleges. Final determinations of part-time Noncredit Instructor assignments are contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability.



GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

A medical certificate indicating fitness to engage in administrative work is required for new employees at the applicant's expense prior to employment.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT - COVID-19 VACCINATION

Pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustees Policy 2900, all students and employees must be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption. LACCD employees are required to provide vaccination status in compliance with Board policy. Newly hired employees must provide vaccination status prior to starting a position or, at the latest, by their position start date.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in any field AND Two (2) years of full-time related professional experience OR

  • Associate degree in any field AND Six (6) years of full-time related professional experience. Note: The professional experience required must be directly related to the teaching assignment.

  • Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college faculty, staff, and students.

    Desirable Qualifications
    • To teach a full range of community college Noncredit Vocational Education course offerings focused on Artificial Intelligence and Computer Technology, candidates must meet the following criteria:

    Successful applicants will be able to provide a Verification of Employment letter from a current or previous employer that substantiates industry or professional knowledge, skills, and abilities in one or more of the following areas:

  • Artificial Intelligence tools and applications

  • Generative AI (text, image, audio, or multimodal systems)

  • Artificial Intelligence literacy instruction

  • AI for workplace productivity and communication

  • AI for academic or research applications

  • Data analysis and visualization

  • Python programming and computational workflows

  • Automation and structured problem-solving with technology

  • Responsible and ethical use of AI technologies

    Verification of Experience (VOE) Letters must be on company letterhead stationery indicating:

    1 Dates of employment;

    2 Position title;

    3 Whether experience was full-time or part-time (if part-time, indicate weekly percentage or hours worked);

    4 Description of related duties performed.

    DUTIES

    The adjunct instructor should be prepared to teach a range of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Technology-related courses within the Noncredit Vocational Education discipline. Courses may range from introductory AI literacy for community learners to applied AI tools used in workplace, academic, and research contexts.

    The successful candidate will:

  • Promote engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning and digital confidence.

  • Deliver hands-on instruction in AI tools and emerging technologies.

  • Support learners with little or no prior technical experience.

  • Integrate responsible, ethical, and informed use of AI technologies.

  • Demonstrate cultural responsiveness in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members across diverse languages, nationalities, socioeconomic levels, ages, identities, abilities, and educational experiences.

    REMOTE LEARNING

    Faculty may be required to conduct classes in a virtual learning environment using Canvas, hybrid, or hyflex modalities to support remote learning. Applicants with demonstrated certification in Canvas or other online instructional modalities may be given preference.

    COMPENSATION

    The salary schedule for adjunct noncredit instructors begins at $81.81 per standard hour.

    5. Verification of Experience letters on letterhead stationery; must show inclusive dates of assignments, state if full-time or part-time and indicate duties. If part-time, the number of paid hours worked per week, semester or year must be included. Uploaded as an Other Document' (Signed hard copies required if selected to interview).
