The Los Angeles Community College District announces an opening for a Dean of Student Services at Los Angeles City College. Los Angeles City College (LACC), with an enrollment of approximately 18,000, is the oldest of the nine colleges in the Los Angeles Community College District, the largest community college district in the world. The campus is in the heart of Los Angeles, minutes from Hollywood and Downtown and conveniently adjacent to major freeway arteries and public transportation including the MTA and Metro. LACC is culturally rich with one of the most ethnically, ideologically and age diverse student bodies in the country. It is this diversity that drives LACC's long tradition of innovation and responsiveness to the changing needs of the times and our students. Our programs range from serving the traditional transfer students to career training, adult career advancement, cultural integration and personal enrichment.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Dean of Student Services is responsible for providing administrative leadership in overseeing the successful coordination of Outreach & Recruitment, Dual Enrollment, FYE/College Promise; and serves as the LACC K-12 and Community Liaison. Under the general supervision of the Vice President of Student Services, the Dean of Student Services directs the planning, organizing, expanding, and implementing of successful Dual Enrollment program, high school articulation, First-Year student recruitment and retention, family and community engagement, and outreach and recruitment strategies and services for Los Angeles City College. The Dean also contributes to campus advertising, branding, and promotional efforts to engage LACC students, prospective students, and the community. The Dean will functionally report to the VP of Student Services.
The Dean is also responsible for ensuring that programs and services under their supervision meets the needs of a diverse student population, promotes equitable outcomes, complies with all state and federal regulations, complies with the budget goals of the college and the district, and promotes the mission of the college and district.

A medical certificate indicating fitness to engage in administrative work is required for new employees at the applicant's expense prior to employment.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT: COVID 19 VACCINATION
Pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustee's Policy 2900, all students and employees must be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption. LACCD employees are required to provide their vaccination status in compliance with the LACCD Board of Trustees' policy. Newly hired employees will be required to provide their vaccination status prior to starting a position or, at the latest, by their position start date
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Salary ranges from $175,836 - $206,448 annually. The selected candidate's salary will be allocated based on prior experience. In addition, there is a $524 monthly differential for a doctoral degree. An excellent benefits package which includes medical, vision, dental and life insurance is available for the employee and eligible dependents.

Documents from an approved foreign transcript evaluator are required for degrees received from other countries.
