Fullerton College Theatre Arts Department invites applications for adjunct instructor positions focusing on acting and performance, beginning August 2025. The positions involve instruction in foundational, intermediate, and advanced acting level courses and improvisation. The successful candidate will assist in developing the syllabus and direction of the courses with additional opportunities to teach classes reflecting the candidates areas of expertise. Minimum Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Masters or Master of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/ performance
OR
Bachelors or Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance
AND Masters in comparative literature, English, communication studies, speech, literature or humanities
OR
Masters or Master of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/ performance
OR
Bachelors or Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance
AND Masters in comparative literature, English, communication studies, speech, literature or humanities
OR
Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area.

Experience with any of the following methodologies are desired. Certification/specialization in any of these areas is a plus but not required as teaching history, professional experience and aptitude are equally considered.:

- Movement (Laban, Alexander Technique, Lecoq, Suzuki, Viewpoints, Williamson, Stage Combat, Stunt Training)
- Speech (Linklater, Fitzmaurice, Hart, Skinner, Lessac, Rodenburg)
Experience using multi-modal approaches and student-centered pedagogy to meet the needs of first generation, immigrant, and low-income students.
Commitment to examine, reflect, and modify instructional, relational, and classroom practices in order to effectively engage and support disproportionately impacted student populations with the goal of closing equity gaps.
Experience successfully working in collaboration with full-time and adjunct faculty in coordinating and maintaining currency of curriculum that responds to the needs of historically underrepresented students.
Working Conditions:
Salary Range: $1391.74 - $1527.30 per lecture unit rate, $1391.74 - $1527.30 per lab parity unit rate, $1113.42 - $1221.77 per lab unit rate

This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, and temporary faculty assignments on an as-needed basis. When the need to fill arises, the department will refer to this pool of part-time faculty.
