Percentage of Employment: Temporary Part-Time
Months of Employment: 38.5 weeks per school year, maximum 26 hours a week
Work Schedule: Varies, Availability of hours: Monday- Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Schedule and shift are subject to change in accordance with department needs.)
Job Description:
Under the direction of Interim Director of Economic and Workforce Development, the Work-Based Learning Coordinator will:
- Serve as guide to help connect students with work-based learning services, programs, and resources available to them.
- Identify and develop list of industry partners, community organizations, and employers who offer apprenticeships, internships, and work-based learning opportunities.
- Works collaboratively to support the development of new relationships with businesses, local workforce agencies, and higher education partners for the purpose of providing WBL experiences.
- Promote WBL opportunities to students and communicate eligibility requirements.
- Track referrals, outcomes, and document student success stories.
- Attend and assist with career fairs, employer engagement events, outreach events, and industry workshops.
- Support the pre-apprenticeship program and assist students who want to advance into the apprenticeship program.
- Perform other duties as assigned as it relates to the grant.
Primary Purpose:
The NOCE, Career Technical Education (CTE) Department is looking to improve student employment outcomes and skill gain by connecting students with work-based learning opportunities. This includes, but is not limited to workshops, field trips, job shadowing, on-the-job training, soft skills education, internships, volunteer opportunities, and apprenticeships.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience working with students in an educational setting.
- Experience with community outreach.
- Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and external partnerships.
- Strong communication, speaking, and presentation skills.
- Must show considerable initiative , judgement, and organizational skills to work independently.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exhibit a sensitivity and awareness of diversity and cultural issues, including race, ethnicity, social class, sexual orientation, religion, age, ability, and immigration status.

Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience working in career technical education or community college programs and services.
- Knowledge and familiarity with apprenticeships, local job center services, and on-the-job training opportunities.
- Experience facilitating work-based learning opportunities for students.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the barriers faced by immigrant and first generation students.

Salary Range: Professional Expert $30/hour
