Los Angeles Mission College (LAMC) is a member in good standing of the Western State Conference (WSC) and the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA). LAMC Athletics serves over 175 Student-Athletes across our intercollegiate programs, supporting Fall Sports: Men's Soccer, Women's Basketball, Woman's Volleyball, Men's and Woman's Cross-Country / Spring Sports: Baseball, Softball, Woman's Tennis.
ABOUT WEST LOS ANGELES COLLEGE (WLAC) ATHLETIC PROGRAM
West Los Angeles College (WLAC) is a member in good standing of the Western State Conference (WSC) and the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA). WLAC Athletics serves over 250 Student-Athletes across 11 intercollegiate sports, including: Baseball (Men's), Basketball (Women's and Men's), Cross Country (Women's and Men's), Football (Men's), Soccer (Women's), Softball (Women's), Track and Field (Women's and Men's), and Volleyball (Women's).
JOB DESCRIPTION (Head Coach, Baseball)
LAMC/WLAC seeks a part time, non-tenured Head Baseball Coach to continue the rich tradition of the program and teach fall, spring, and intersession Kinesiology-Athletic classes. The successful candidate will report to the Athletics Director and is responsible for all aspects of planning, managing, and directing a successful Community College program; including coaching, practice and game preparation, recruiting, academic matriculation, placement, developing positive player-coach relationships, budget management, team travel, field preparation, public relations, fund-raising, marketing, promotions, scheduling, rules compliance and other duties as assigned.
The position is for the 2024-2025 season but will require the candidate to begin student recruitment and training in the Summer of 2024. The position is a part-time adjunct coaching assignment in the Athletic Department and continuation of the assignment is contingent upon funding and professional performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree and two years of full-time professional experience, which must be directly related to the teaching assignment; OR
- Associate's degree and six years of full-time professional experience, which must be directly related to the teaching assignment;
- A sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of district faculty, staff, and students.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT COVID 19 VACCINATION:
Pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustee's Policy 2900, all students and employees must be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption. LACCD employees are required to provide their vaccination status in compliance with the LACCD Board of Trustees' policy. Newly hired employees will be required to provide their vaccination status prior to starting a position or, at the latest, by their position start date.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
This position is paid as follows: 10-standard teaching hours paid at the contractual hourly rate during the season of competition, plus a $17,900 stipend for out-of-class activities and two to four 3-standard hour off-season conditioning classes paid at the contractual hourly rate.
Playoff Bonus: Coaches are paid $839 per week their team is in the playoffs.
