The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) announces an opening for a Dean of Curriculum and Instructional Support Services at the District's Educational Service Center. Interested individuals who possess the required training and experience are invited to submit applications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Completion of one year of full-time formal training, internship or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrative assignment.
- Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
Health: A medical certificate indicating fitness to engage in administrative work is required for new employees at the applicant's expense after selection from an eligible list and prior to employment.
COVID 19 VACCINATION
Pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustee's Policy 2900, all students and employees must be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption. LACCD employees are required to provide their vaccination status in compliance with the LACCD Board of Trustees' policy. Newly hired employees will be required to provide their vaccination status prior to starting a position or, at the latest, by their position start date.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Dean of Curriculum and Instructional Support Services reports to the Division of Educational Programs and Institutional Effectiveness and is responsible for 1) managing the operations and systems related to credit, noncredit and not-for-credit curriculum and program development; and 2) providing district-level strategic support to academic programs, including distance education, dual enrollment, and districtwide articulation and transfer agreements; and 3) providing strategic support to other units related to curriculum and the impact of the Education Code.

SALARY:
Salary ranges from $151,286 - $177,635 annually. The selected candidate will be placed on the salary schedule dependent on the evaluation of experience and professional preparation. The doctoral differential is $4,926 per academic year. Benefits include 15.5 paid holidays annually, 15-24 days paid vacation annually depending on length of District service, medical/hospital, dental and vision care plans and a $50,000 group life insurance policy.
SELECTION PROCEDURES:
1. All applications will be reviewed for entrance qualifications.
2. A selection committee will review all completed and approved applications, and contact those selected for an interview.
3. Selected candidates will be invited for an interview following the committee screening which will involve an evaluation of the candidate's qualifications in the areas of training and experience and make a recommendation to the Vice Chancellor for Educational Programs and Institutional Effectiveness.
4. Based upon the selection committee report, the Vice Chancellor will make the final decision.
5. The Chancellor will recommend one candidate to the Board of Trustees for appointment.
