Job Duties
An adjunct faculty member for the Bachelor of Science in Interaction Design (IxD) at Santa Monica College is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in courses related to interaction design, user experience (UX) design, and related fields. This role involves preparing and teaching lectures, facilitating hands-on projects, and assessing student performance. Faculty members are expected to stay current with industry trends and integrate real-world applications into their teaching. They also provide mentorship and guidance to students, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Additionally, adjunct faculty participate in departmental meetings, and engage in professional development activities to enhance their teaching effectiveness.
The Interaction Design program at Santa Monica College offers a comprehensive curriculum that blends design, UX, and technology, preparing students for careers in various industries. The program emphasizes hands-on collaborative experiences, ensuring that students gain practical skills and industry connections.
Job Duties
- Teach advanced courses related to interaction design.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master's in instructional design/technology or educational technology
- OR the equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional experience with UX/Interaction Design
- Teaching experience in a field reasonably related to the discipline of the assignment
