Job Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is a part-time hourly position that is grant funded annually from July - June. The position works no more than 38.5 weeks a year and no more than 26 hours a week. Monday thru Thursday.

Under the supervision of the Career Education Director, the Career Education Project Expert serves as a primary liaison among students, faculty, industry partners, and community organizations to support career readiness/experiential learning and instructional student related services. The project expert works collaboratively to enhance student engagement, improve outcomes, and promote holistic career development in their related program/specialty. This position requires strong organizational, communication, attention to detail, and analytical skills to advance program goals and drive continuous improvement.

The project expert may be assigned to lead any of the following programs, depending on Departmental needs: Work Based Learning Pathway Programs Employer Tuition Assistance Fellowships

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide leadership, coordination, and student support services to educational partners and students in designated pathways.
Improve access, student success outcomes, decrease time-to-degree, and increase degree completion rates for students.

Provide direct, frequent, and on-going holistic career education related services and referrals.

Coordinate and execute high-priority logistical tasks within strict timelines.

Maintains a variety of records, logs and student files; prepares periodic and special reports related to program activities and effectiveness; oversees and reviews the preparation and maintenance of confidential student records and files.

Build partnerships with programs across campus to carry out program objectives. Participate in campus and community events to promote Department and other related college programs.

Develop resource materials, publications, and handbooks. Design and distribute informational pamphlets, brochures, flyers, and letters.

Develop and coordinate outreach services, including communicating with high school partners, professional and community organizations, workforce industry partners and other institutions of higher education.

Attend regular meetings, make presentations, and assist students via telephone and in person.

Gathers data and prepares statistical reports as directed.

Participates in the preparation and monitoring of assigned program budgets; calculates budget expenditures for program related activities.

Leads efforts to address student achievement gaps; creating a welcoming and inclusive work and educational environment; and participates in diversity, equity and inclusion training and events.

Must be able to accept constructive criticism, prioritize workload, be dependable, behave professionally and interact positively with others.

Regular, punctual attendance required.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Transportation:
Must have reliable transportation for off-campus events and site visits and possess a valid California drivers license.

Minimum Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. A typical qualifying experience would include at least three (3) years full-time equivalent progressively responsible project coordination, administrative support, program support, communications, marketing, or related experience.

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related technologies, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, Canva, Calendly, Remind, Instagram and OneDrive.

Experience developing publications, promotional materials, marketing collateral, digital communications, and/or social media content.

Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects, maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Qualifications:
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Possession of a bachelors degree or advanced degree from an accredited institution.

Project/administrative experience in higher education with high emphasis in program coordination, preferably in an educational setting.

Grant writing experience.

Bilingual in English and Spanish.

The ability to address the needs of diverse student and/or employee populations.
