NOCCCD is now accepting applications for a Mortuary Science Instructor at Cypress College!

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Duties and responsibilities as presented are intended to be representative and not restrictive. The District reserves the right to modify the assignment and allocation of duties in accordance with operational needs.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

The award of all degrees must be verifiable on a legible transcript. If degree award date is not posted on transcript your application will be deemed incomplete and removed from consideration.

Grade cards will not be accepted in lieu of transcripts.

All degrees and course work used to satisfy the required minimum qualifications must be submitted and from accredited postsecondary institutions. See our website here regarding accredited postsecondary institutions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Masters degree or equivalent foreign degree AND a Bachelors degree in the discipline or closely related discipline

OR

Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area;

AND ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:

Six (6) years of professional experience directly related to the assignment which must include clinical decedent care as a licensed embalmer

Graduation from an institution of funeral service education accredited by the ABFSE.

National Board Exam certification from the ICFSEB not later than the first day of the semester, as a condition of employment .

Possession of a valid California funeral directors license or acquisition of California license not later than the first day of the semester, as a condition of employment.

Possession of a valid California embalmers license or acquisition of California license not later than the first day of the semester, as a condition of employment.

This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, and temporary faculty assignments on an as-needed basis. When the need to fill arises, the department will refer to this pool of part-time faculty.
