COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Salary Range: Yearly Salary of $80,693 - 113,724 (23/24 Faculty Salary Schedule); Placement within this range is determined by teaching experience, other related professional experience, and academic degrees. Contracted salary is for 177 days per year (August through May) as specified in the All Faculty Association Contract, Article 8. AFA Contract - Articles

Santa Rosa Junior College is seeking an individual with demonstrated instructional skills to join an outstanding team of faculty and instructional administrators to provide high quality programs and services to our district, our community, and most importantly, our students. This is a full-time, regular contract position in the Kinesiology, Athletics and Department at Santa Rosa Junior College, beginning Fall Semester, August 2024. Appointments are contingent upon funding and Board approval.

Essential Functions

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Kinesiology, Athletics and Dance Department offers a comprehensive, well-rounded program which meets the needs of our varied student population. The department offers Associate's of Arts degrees in Kinesiology, Kinesiology for Transfer, Fitness and Health Coach, Kinesiology: Sports Medicine Preparation, and Dance, and certificates in the areas of Fitness, Pilates, Yoga and Dance. A wide variety of activity classes accommodate students ranging in age from high school students to senior adults. Our numerous class offerings provide for a full complement of lecture based courses in kinesiology, activity classes, as well as 17 varsity intercollegiate sports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The athletic training discipline is seeking a full time faculty member to join its team as a clinical athletic trainer. The successful candidate will join one full time faculty head athletic trainer, one full time faculty athletic trainer and a pool of associate part time faculty athletic trainers in providing high quality health care for nearly 550-600 student athletes on 17 intercollegiate athletic teams annually. SRJC has two campuses, located in Santa Rosa and Petaluma, as well as multiple satellite locations within the district, including online. SRJC Athletics activities typically occur at the Santa Rosa location, but off-campus team practice locations and travel for competition are also required of this position as needed. Please note the district reserves the right of assignment to any location, and that assignments could involve any combination of day or evening assignments. Instructors assume responsibility for maintaining currency in the field, for updating existing courses and developing new curricula (including courses that serve community needs, such as short, non-credit, or online courses), assisting in the assessment of student learning outcomes, participating in department activities and other college service such as committee work, managing laboratories, and participating in community outreach on behalf of the college.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree AND two years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) related experience; OR
  • an Associate's degree AND six years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) related experience;
  • OR the equivalent;
Bachelor's or Master's degree from an entry-level athletic training education program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) AND certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) as an athletic trainer AND two years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) related experience. A list of accredited programs can be found on the CAATE website
  • Current CPR Certificate;
  • Current California Driver's License with a good driving record;
Candidates must have proof of current emergency cardiac care certification compliant with the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer. Currency of certifications must be maintained with no lapse.
